Fatah and Hamas appear to have deals on a unified approach and elections, following Israel’s normalization agreements with the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.

The positive atmosphere engendered by the Fatah-Hamas agreement announced after their Sept. 24 meeting in the Palestinian Embassy in Istanbul is the product of a slow but serious behind-the-scenes effort. National coalition to protest normalization with Israel during deal signing at White House

Activists say normalization deals with Israel which are not about peace but about furthering Israel’s systems of occupation and apartheid.

Washington, D.C. — On Tuesday, September 15, Donald Trump will host a ceremonial signing of deals to normalize relations between Israel and the UAE and Israel and Bahrain. Activists will gather to protest these deals which are not about peace but about furthering Israel’s systems of occupation and apartheid. Reports in The Forward and the Israeli media watchdog, 7th Eye, reveal that the Israeli government offered millions in funding to pro-Israel groups in the U.S. in violation of U.S. law.  A number of groups approached by the Israeli ministry of strategic affairs refused the funding, believing it would label them as propaganda agents on behalf of a foreign nation.  But many groups had no compunctions and readily took the cash in return for promoting Israeli interests in the U.S. (more…)

A military officer was filmed kneeling on the head of a 60-year-old Palestinian while arresting him during a protest in a West Bank village on Tuesday.
